Story of former Magistrate, Romulus Bestavian will be deleted soon.
The Magistrate of Casilinum, Romulus Bestavian, used to be the magistrate in Capua. He offended a high ranking senator in Rome at one point. Apparently, the good Senator had come to Capua to confront Romulus about some unknown situation, during which time Romulus threw the good Senator out of his office into the mud of the streets embarrassing him to no end. The Senator sought revenge, and while back in Rome, he petitioned for and succeeded in having Romulus replaced. The new Magistrate arrived, taking over, throwing Romulus himself out into the streets (much to the Senator’s glee). Finding himself bitter and embarrassed, the people scorning him from the scandal the new Magistrate wove around him, Romulus felt the need to leave, turning his path toward Casilinum. No one knows the reason for the fight between Romulus and the Senator, and rumors abound all over town as to what it was

Meanwhile the Magistrate now hates the town of Capua along with this Senator in Rome, and is plotting to bring them all down politically. At some point the Magistrate may send some of the gladiators, from the new ludus that has risen up to some local acclaim so quickly, to Capua to kidnap someone close to the new Magistrate like a business partner or his son. Should this transpire, these captives would be brought back to Casilinum as slaves that perhaps would one day find himself in the Casilinum Arena to be killed as a criminal. Of course the charges would be trumped up, but who could really prove a thing?
Generally speaking the town does not really trust Romulus as he was sent here from Capua, a city we all hate to begin with, so Romulus will have to work hard to win the hearts of the people of Casilinum. The Magistrate will of course be trying to elevate Casilinum to a higher level but all for his personal reasons of course. Sponsoring games will be one way to appease them, and might get him closer to the odd woman who seems to run the new ludus to spite her doddering old idiot of a … husband all assume the man is. Obviously this is no upstart, but who is she really? Oh Romulus can smell the intrigue surrounding her, a hidden past he can all but taste one he’d like to know to hopefully gain control of what appears to be some seriously loyal gladiators … surprisingly loyal to their Domina, not her husband, yes, that could be very useful to him.
